We are only a couple of hours away from closing the chapter that was 2013, the year of change, which has been filled with the love & support of both old & new friends. We are eagerly anticipating the excitement and growth that 2014 will bring for ArtOf2.
What exciting things have you got planned for 2014?
A couple of weeks ago we completed a branding photoshoot for Cockle Bay Wharf. Yesterday one of the first images was printed in an ad in the Sydney Morning Herald.
It certainly was a great shoot with a fantastic team behind it all. We still can't believe how many scenes we managed to fit into the day.
Thanks to Baia THE ITALIAN, Nick's Seafood Restaurant, Blackbird Cafe - Cockle Bay Wharf, Lindt Chocolate Cafe Australia & Coast Restaurant for providing us with great settings and scrumptious food & drinks.

Another Lost party going off with a band and ending with a massive thunderstorm.
For my last birthday, my beautiful friend Sari organized I do a Scientific cooking class on Spherification at the Chef's Armoury , which is pretty much making caviare or balls of food that burst with flavour. The whole idea is to turn the outside of the tasty food into a fragile jelly shell like a ninja encapsulates pure awesome ninja fury. Combining all the sciency sounding names with beakers of food and syringes made for an awesome arvo and its something I will definitely try at home. I just have to remember to buy the correct chemicals and not wing it with things I find under the kitchen sink :P
Just finished a massively busy day and can finally finish it off nicely with a cold beer while people watching from the balcony of the pub. The people are so tiny that they look like ants. Then again it could just be the tilt shift program I'm using on my phone :P
You gota love all the apps. I can't wait to get home, grab our bags and head off to the airport to go explore Hong Kong for a week.
On the 2nd of October, Anton & I had the great privilege of attending our friend Phil Warran's marriage to the beautiful Allison Beard. My wonderful friend & business partner, Sari Wotawa made a glorious chocolate mud cake for them as a wedding gift.
Not one to miss out on an opportunity, I decided that it would be a good idea to practice shooting the cake in preparation for the wedding we are photographing later in the month.
I had great fun putting our 50mm lens to the test and I think that that the results speak for themselves. At one point I even made Anton stand on a chair to get the topview photo's :-)
I think think that of the topview photo's, it was better to have the actual flowers the focus rather than the petals, but have posted both versions up. If anyone has any feedback, I would love to hear what your thoughts are and anything that I could have done to improve the shots.
Yesterday was a monumental day for me. I have finally taken the plunge, put in my last $5 and become a member of a local RSL.
To celibrate we ordered a round of beers, and then another. Then we got crazy and gambles another $5 on the meat trays but alas my loosing streak continued and I was left with no neatly packaged box of meat.
Stumbled across this collection of images on fffound.comI love the style the collection has, even though they are from various sources; they all seem to have a common feel to them.
I read this article today about Google turning off their filtering in China. The Chinese government's response was quick but basically came down to telling Google to not politicise the situation.WTF. Politics is business between countries.
Its fantastic that a company would try to stand up for its customers and face a insurmountable opposition in order to do the morally right thing. even if it means losing a massively growing market and alienating themselves from it. that takes real balls.
I completely applaud Google i their efforts. Hopefully this will raise more issues and break down more walls.
Ceri took this picture a while back when we found a used needle in the city. I got to playing with SilverFX and liked the end result. I used a point on my hand to brighten it and an overall under exposure of the image to give focus to the hand and needle.
